OCEAN-Nepal Partnership

OCEAN (Overseas Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and Anaesthesia Network) is a newly formed charity created by UK Senior Registrars aiming to promote sustainable acute care globally. The Director is Dr Alex Oldman, a Wessex Specialty Registrar in Anaesthetics. They aim to provide clinical work abroad, but also have a particular focus on introducing sustainable quality and governance networks in departments with which they are partnered. In 2024 they started "OCEAN-Nepal" where they are partnered with Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, and B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. They are launching their Clinical Partnership Programme in 2026. More information can be found on their website
